Patricia brings a unique blend of capabilities in public policy development, economic analysis, corporate strategy and investment consulting built over a career spanning government, corporate, asset management and not for profit sectors.
Patricia combines strategic insight, problem solving skills together with an independent evidence-based approach to solving complex long-term economic and social policy issues. As a practitioner in the complex interface between government, industry and the community, Patricia facilitates purposeful engagement to build consensus and broaden advocacy for change.
Patricia is a recognized champion for clarity of purpose and a longer-term perspective to be brought to bear in retirement incomes policy development. Patricia was senior economic adviser for government inquiries into national savings, review into financial services and held senior roles at the Commonwealth Treasury and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
As an investment consultant, she led Mercer’s global government funds consulting practice advising government pension funds and sovereign wealth funds. She played a key role in establishing the Australian Future Fund’s governance and investment capability and was engaged by the New Zealand Department of Finance to lead an independent review of New Zealand Superannuation.
She has also applied her organisational strategy and public policy capabilities within highly complex corporate settings in senior strategic roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Australian Securities Exchange.
